Our Story
What is in a name? For Kwa-Nzĩa quite a bit.
- The cultural possessive “Kwa” – The place/home of – honours the family name and the farm that occupied the land for more than 35 years.
- It is an auditory play on words. If pronounced in the way of the tonal Kikamba – Kwa-Nzia evokes a road, path, or way. In Kiswahili (Kuanzia) it denotes a beginning.
- And finally it pays homage to our culture of naming an area and giving directions using a landmark such as a homestead.
It is our hope that for you it will come to mean home as well.
